Oscar, What ball do you recommend I play? This is one of the questions I get asked the most. All golfers, at any level, have to make a decision when they go out to play. What ball are they going to use? No one escapes having to make this decision. And furthermore, it doesn't matter your level: professional or beginner, you will see your golf ball with every shot.

It is not an easy question to answer, which is why I have decided to take this golf class.

If it is a topic that you usually discuss with your playmates, do not hesitate to share this class with them. Surely you know someone who has bought a bag of 500 balls on Amazon, or someone who passes by your golf course. Bag of 500 balls, each one of unknown origin. I'm Oscar Garzón and I'm going to talk to you about golf balls.

In one of the most viral short videos I have made on my Instagram profile, Oscar Garzon Golf, was talking about golf balls. Many players change their ball when they reach a dangerous hole. Water or out of bounds are reason enough to put away the ball you like to play, the one you have chosen to be YOUR BALL and take out a bad ball or in the worst case, one from the practice tee. Don't do this, PLEASE WHY IS IT? FEAR? SECURITY? SHOESTRING BUDGET? Whatever, but don't do it.

If you have passed this stage, I congratulate you Player. You are now a real golf player and you can start thinking about making the decision of which ball to play to achieve your best performance. If you still change it, I encourage you to stay until the end of this class, it will be very good for you. If you don't change balls, but you are one of those who buys them in bags of five hundred. You play the one that comes out of there, this class is going to be even better for you.

By the way, what golf ball do you play? What brand and model have you chosen? Make a comment, I'm very interested. I am from Titleist PROV1, the black one. Although after preparing this class I am thinking of trying another model. If you have any questions, make a comment. I will be happy to answer you.

This is one of the classes that has stuck out to me the most. I usually get the content out with some ease. Will it be the filming, the experience or is it that I have a gift. Hahaha it's a joke. I believe more in experience and training. In order to unblock the topic, I have had to study a lot. Finally, I have decided to rely on the study that has been done MygolfSpy about the balls in the year 2023. It seemed very complete to me. But this English. And players who want to golf in Spanish deserve content about golf balls in our language. Stay with me until the end of this class, because it's worth it. Let's go there, Players.

I'm not going to bore you with the process they carried out to make this balls test. I have studied it. You have my guarantee. I'm going to cut to the chase to help you decide which ball is best for your golf. They have basically tested 46 models of golf balls, with three different swing speeds. THIS MAKES IT SUPER INTERESTING. They have also included tests around the green. BRUTAL, even better. Still, if you have any questions about the process, leave me a comment. If you're wondering who tests them, who hits the balls... It's a robot.

Among the brands and models they have tested, all kinds of prices by the dozen and ball compressions: Titleist PROV1 (ALL), Callaway Chrome soft, Bridgestone Tour B, Srixon Z-star, Wilson, Maxfli, Vice, Mizuno, etc.. Among them is also the new Inesis ball, the prototype of the 900 line. I always recommend the Inesis material, it seems to me that it has an unbeatable quality-price ratio. For this video I have tried their three lines 100, 500 and 900. Be careful, they don't pay me, they have simply left me their balls to try. I will speak with complete sincerity. What the players deserve and expect.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN DISCOVERIES YOU HAVE MADE IN THIS 2023 BALL REVIEW?

High compression balls work for all golf players. You might be wondering WHAT THE HELL IS BALL COMPRESSION? It is basically a unit of measurement for the density of the core of a golf ball. Higher compression, between 85 and 100, means a harder core, which will be more difficult to compress. Normally its cover is made of a softer material. And on the contrary, a softer core, more volatile after impact. The cover is usually made of a harder material. A priori, these last ones, with lower compression, below 70, are better for players with lower swing speeds.

With low swing speed, you can use high compression. It won't affect your distance, but you will generate more spin on shots to the green. YOU ARE INTERESTED

With high swing speed, you should use high compression. With a low compression ball you will lose distance off the tee. YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED

If you want a soft touch, you only have one option. LOW COMPRESSION

Golf balls evolve. They look the same, they perform differently. You have to pay attention to the brands' news for the same models that they put on the market each season.

The same ball can give you speed (distance) and spin (control). This is very good news for players. You don't have to sacrifice one thing for another. Normally, Spin will affect the flight of the ball. More Spin, higher trajectories and greater spin. Less Spin equals lower, straighter trajectories.

Now I want to make a quick stop to talk about balls. INESIS As I already said, it is a material that I highly recommend for its quality-price ratio. Stay until the end, hold on, don't leave yet. After this I will talk about the results of the ball tests and which brands are the winners for each category.

Speaking with Kevin, from Inesis Canarias, I told him that I was preparing a class on golf balls. He didn't hesitate to leave me a box of each of his models to try. I tell you my feelings:

INESIS 100:

Only for very beginner players who still have little sensation and control. It is a ball that flies a little crazy, this is because it does not generate any Spin. The touch of the ball is not soft at all. It is a great option to play the same ball, with a manufacturing guarantee and not spend a lot of money if you are one of those who still lose a lot of balls.

INESIS 500 SOFT:

A soft touch ball. Recommended for players with low swing speed. The touch is soft and pleasant. It doesn't generate much spin, especially on shorter shots. I would not recommend it to players with high swing speeds.

INESIS 900:

A very good alternative to PROV1 type balls. It is true that it is a ball that does not go long, you can lose a little distance with respect to the others. But it is a ball that generates a lot of spin and has a very pleasant touch. Its price is lower than the other brands in this range. This makes her very attractive. If you are a Pitch and Putt player where distance becomes less relevant than control on the greens, it may be one of the best options.

You will see that I have not talked at any time about the durability of the ball. If you are one of those of us who have turned thirty-ten years old, you will understand what I mean. It was a topic that worried us a lot, those of us who played with Balata balls. No, they were not cheap Chinese balls. I remember the Titleist Tour Balata, the Maxfli, what backspin these balls made. We competed to see who could do the most meters of backspin on the green. It was very funny. But if you were lucky you could play more than nine holes with them. If you hit a little edge, goodbye ball.

If you are one of those who played Balata balls, write me a comment: “Thirty-ten.” This way I will know that I am not alone.

What I'm going to talk about now is the brands' tools to sell balls: They paint them different colors. Inesis has a good variety. They put stamps with different drawings. TaylorMade has positioned itself very well in this regard. Others are putting the now famous lines that help the player position themselves. Callaway has done very well. Of these novelties I only recommend, if you want to try something different, the yellow ball and those that favor alignment. I think the rest is taking the bait.

LET'S NOW WITH THE RESULTS. IT CAN HELP YOU DECIDE WHICH BALL TO PLAY. LET'S SEE IT AT SWING SPEEDS.

Stay until the end of the class because the results for medium or low swing speeds and the results for approach shots are probably the ones that will give you the best information to make your decision on WHICH GOLF BALL TO BUY.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR HIGH SWING SPEED 115 MPH (Driver) / 87 MPH (8 Iron)

There are four Titleist models on the recommendation podium for high swing speeds: the three PROV1 and the AVX. If you want guarantees of a good ball, that is Titleist. The winner in the Low Spin category is the Maxfli Tour S, I have always been fond of this brand. The winner for medium Spin is the Mizuno RB Tour X. The winner for high Spin is the Srixon Z-Star Diamond.

WITH THE DRIVER: If you want distance with the Driver the PROV1x Left dash, If you want higher flight the TP5 from Taylor Made, if you want it low the Chrome Soft X from Callaway. If you like a soft ball feel and have a high swing speed, your options are the Titleist AVX or the Srixon Z-star.

WITH THE IRONS: If you want distance, the Bridgestone Tour B RX, in addition to providing a soft ball touch. If you want distance but a slightly firmer ball touch, the Bridgestone Tour B. If you want a ball with a lot of Spin, the Inesis 900

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AVERAGE SWING SPEED 100 MPH (Driver) / 77MPH (8 Iron)

There is a wide variety of brands and models recommended in this section, which is good for the player as they can more easily cover their needs in the market. The winner in the low Spin category is the Vice Pro Soft. The winner in the Medium Spin category is the Titleist PROV1x, there is always a Titleist ball on the podium. The winner in the High Spin category is the Srixon Z-star Diamond, also a winner for high swing speed.

WITH THE DRIVER: If you want to go long with the Driver the PROV1x, for a high trajectory the Z-star Diamond from Srixon or the TP5 from Taylor Made, for a low ball flight choose between the yellow Titleist PROV1 or the Tour Speed. If you are a soft touch player, choose between Bridgestone TOUR B RX or RXS and Titleist AVX. They are the longest with a soft touch.

WITH THE IRONS: If you want distance Titleist AVX or the Tour Response from Taylor Made, if you want good distance and also high spin the best option is the Chrome Soft X LS from Callaway, If you are looking for a high ball flight the Maxfli Tour S. The An option that goes longer and also offers a soft touch is the Bridgestone TOUR B RX.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LOW SWING SPEED 85 MPH (Driver) / 67 MPH (8 Iron)

Maxfli recommended as a GREAT BUY. Srixon Z-star Diamond again winner as best in the High Spin category, I have to try this ball, it has something. LA GOLF is the winner in the medium spin category, I have not seen this ball in my country, I don't know if it is marketed where you play. The winner for the Low Spin category is the Vice Pro Soft.

WITH THE DRIVER: The ball that goes the longest is the Vice Pro Plus followed by the Titleist PROV1x Left Dash. If you like a soft touch, an option with good distance is the Wilson Triad. I have always liked the Wilson brand, mind you, it has a lot of history. Do you want to go high? The Z-star Diamond from Srixon, again hahaha, if you want to go long but with a low trajectory you should try the Titleist Tour Speed or the Wilson Triad.

WITH THE IRONS: The balls that have shone in distance in this section are those with low compression, as we had already mentioned before in this class. Anyone can play with high compression ones, but low compression ones perform phenomenally for lower swing speeds. Some of the best options: Wilson DUO Soft, Callaway Supersoft, Taylor Made Tour Response.

RECOMMENDATIONS APPROACH HIT 37 MPH (Sw 56 degrees)

Let's go with the last of the results. Player, if you've made it this far, I congratulate you. Once again you demonstrate the interest in your improvement and the attention you pay in classes. Leave me a LOT of GOLF in the comments to know that you are one of those Players. A lot of golf Player.

What you should care about most in this section is the spin your ball generates. This will help you a lot when your shot lands on the green. The ball with the highest Spin with 5,985 RPM is the INESIS 900. That is why it is the ball that I recommend if you are a Pitch and Putt player. Because of the spin and because of that fantastic quality-price ratio that Decathlon always offers us.

Before saying goodbye, I don't want to forget to make a small summary so that the most important ideas are very clear to you: 1. You have to choose which ball to play, it is not worth taking the first one you see or find, decide what your model is going to be. 2. Titleist is always a very reliable brand, look among its models to see which one best suits you. 3. We have to try the Srixon Z-star Diamond, there is something about that ball that is a winner for any swing speed. 4. High compression balls for all players, lower compression balls only for lower swing speed players.

Players, that's it for today's Spanish golf class. I hope it has been of interest to you. I have tried to be clear and concise since the subject of balls goes a long way. If you have any questions, write me a comment and I will be happy to answer you. And now, without further ado, I hope that until the next time we meet you have LOTS OF GOLF. Lots of golf, Players!
